Josephine is a Berlin Artist currently studying fine arts at UdK Berlin in the class of Valerie Favre - her main focus is set on painting.

''In my work I strive to create a playing field where opposites engage in a dance of contradicition; a conflict of harmony - Struggle and intimacy. The aim is to merge these contrasts, much like the figures in my paintings, which collide and dissolve into one another yet always conform to the framework they inhabit. It's allied to a tug-of-war between forces where no clear resolution can emerge. The human-made creature, existing both in reality and in paint, embodies all the attributes we project onto animals- wildness, rawness and innocence. Painting becomes an intimate experience, a wrestling match with color, where both dispute and pacification are possible. It's a constant negotiation, a tension between decisions that shape my artistic process.''
